Account settings

Settings in Kerfuff are split across three areas: your personal account, your household, and the look of the app on this device.

Settings → Account

Your account settings affect only your login — they do not change anything for other household members.

My profile

Link your login to a household profile. Once linked, your avatar appears in the sidebar and tasks filter correctly on profile-scoped displays.

Password

Change your password. Minimum 8 characters. Works for both email/password and OAuth (Google/Microsoft) accounts.

Plan & usage

See your current plan, renewal date, and usage meters for AI scans, photos and displays. Owners can upgrade or manage billing from here.

Notifications

Control which notifications you receive and enable push notifications for this device.

Scan by email

Your household email address for forwarding emails to be scanned by AI.

Your data

Download a copy of all your household data.

Delete account

For owners: deletes the entire household and all its data. For other members: removes you from the household and deletes your login. Type DELETE to confirm.

Notifications

Kerfuff sends push notifications to your device. Each notification type can be turned on or off individually.

Enabling push notifications

1.Go to Settings → Account → Notifications.
2.Tap 'Enable on this device'.
3.Allow the browser permission when prompted.
4.On iPhone, the app must be added to your Home Screen first (tap the Share icon → Add to Home Screen).

Quiet hours

Non-urgent notifications are held during quiet hours (21:00–07:00 UTC). Safety and billing notices still come through during quiet hours.

Settings → Household

Household settings affect everyone in your household. Most require owner or adult role to change.

Household name

Owner only

The name shown in the app. Does not affect anything else.

Time zone

Owner only

Used to calculate 'today', event times on the wall display, and notification quiet hours. Set this to your household's local time zone.

Location

Owner only

Used for weather on the screensaver and to calculate sunrise/sunset times for display dimming. Stored as coordinates only, not a full address.

Members

Owner and adult

View, invite, remove and change roles for household members. Owners can also transfer ownership.

Displays

Owner and adult

View paired displays, change display roles and layouts, and unpair screens.

Profiles

Owner and adult

Add people to the calendar, edit names and colours, upload avatars and set birthdays.

Labels

Owner and adult

Create and edit activity labels (Sport, School, Work etc.) that can be applied to events.

Settings → Display options

These settings control how the app looks on this device only. They are stored locally and do not sync to other devices or affect other household members.

Appearance

•Colour scheme: Auto (follows system), Light, or Dark.
•Navigation bar style: Default, Always dark, or Accent colour.
•Accent colour: 14 options — Blue, Indigo, Purple, Teal, Cyan, Green, Lime, Vermillion, Coral, Amber, Gold, Magenta, Rose, Slate.

Calendar view

•Default view: Schedule, Day, Week, or Month.
•Week starts on: Monday or Sunday.
•Days shown in schedule view: 1–7.
•Shade weekends: toggle.
•Dim past events: toggle.

Layout & density

•Density: Cosy, Snug, or Roomy.
•Text size: Normal, Large (115%), or Extra large (130%).

Sync accent colour to wall displays

Enable 'Sync accent colour to all displays' in display options to push your chosen accent colour to every paired wall display in the household.

Resetting your password

1.Go to kerfuff.app/login and tap 'Forgot password'.
2.Enter your email address.
3.You will receive a reset email. Open it within 1 hour.
4.Click the link, enter a new password (minimum 8 characters), and save.
