Getting started
Creating your account
Kerfuff takes about two minutes to set up. Here is what happens from signup to your first screen being live.
Sign-up options
There are two ways to create an account:
Google or Microsoft
Click 'Continue with Google' or 'Continue with Microsoft' on the sign-in page. Kerfuff pulls in your existing calendar events to preview during setup — nothing is written until you confirm.
Email and password
Enter your email and a password of at least 8 characters. You set up your household manually — no calendar is connected automatically.

Preview your events
Kerfuff fetches your upcoming events from the next three weeks and shows you a preview. Nothing is saved yet — this step is read-only.

Confirm your family
Kerfuff infers the people in your household from your calendar events and suggests names and colours. You can add, rename or remove anyone before continuing.

Invite others (optional)
You can generate invite links for other members of your household, or skip this step and invite them later from Settings → Household.

Enter your details
Provide your first name, your household name, and your time zone. Kerfuff auto-detects your time zone from the browser.

Create your household
Your household is created with you as the owner. Your name becomes the first profile.

Connect a calendar (optional)
You can connect Google Calendar, Outlook, or Apple Calendar from Settings → Calendar accounts after setup.

Invite others (optional)
Share invite links from Settings → Household → Invite.
Pairing your first screen
Once your household is created, you can pair any spare screen as a wall display. See the Wall display guide for the full process.
No account needed on the display device
The screen you want to use as a wall display only needs a browser. It does not need a Kerfuff account or a login — just open /pair and enter the six-digit code.
